There’s nothing quite like the magic of a train ride through a winter wonderland — and this holiday season, Strasburg Railroad in Ronks, Pennsylvania delivers an unforgettable experience for the whole family. From vintage train cars to festive activities and a very special Santa, this is the perfect outing to make lasting holiday memories.
Strasburg Railroad is located at 301 Gap Road, Ronks, PA 17572. Parking is free at the station, making it easy to hop aboard and start your holiday adventure stress-free.
🚂 The Train Ride
The Christmas trains run through Amish Country until December 24, offering a45-minute ride aboard a beautifully restored working steam locomotive. Guests can choose from multiple car options:
Standard Coach – cozy and classic.
First Class & Club Cars – a quieter, more intimate ride.
Dining Cars – enjoy seasonal treats while taking in the festive scenery.
Onboard, carolers fill the train with holiday cheer, and the highlight for many is the Santa Ride Along, where kids and adults alike can meet Santa, snap a selfie, and soak in the holiday spirit.
🌟 A Personal Experience: Celebrating Diversity
One of the most special moments of our visit was our one-on-one meet-and-greet with an African American Santa. It was such a meaningful experience for our family — seeing our children interact with Santa in a way that reflects diversity and inclusion truly made the magic of the season feel even more real. It sparked important conversations with our kids about representation, joy, and the importance of seeing themselves reflected in traditions.
